Dressage saddles have a deeper seat for more ‘feel’ of the horse’s movement, and longer flaps to allow for a longer, almost vertical hanging leg. The stirrup bars are placed slightly further back so that the rider can achieve an imaginary straight line from ear, to shoulder, to elbow, to hip, to heel. This gives the rider an elegant, yet effective position.
